Local SEO and your Google Business Profile for real estate agents

Local SEO for agents comes down to three things: a complete and accurate Google Business Profile, a steady flow of real reviews, and website pages that clearly cover the neighborhoods you serve. It builds slowly, but the leads it produces are inbound and cost mostly time.

1. Complete and accurate business profile

  • Use the exact business name you operate under, not extra keywords
  • Choose the right primary category and set your service areas
  • Add real photos, your hours, phone, website, and a short honest description
  • Keep the name, address, and phone identical everywhere they appear online

2. A steady stream of real reviews

Ask every happy client at the moment they are happiest, with a direct link and a sentence about what to include. Reply to every review. Never offer payment for reviews, write them for clients, or gate them by sentiment, which platform rules and consumer protection rules restrict.

3. Neighborhood and service pages on your site

Create a page for each area you actively work, with genuine local information: what it is like to live there, the kinds of homes, recent activity you can speak to, and how you help sellers and buyers there. Thin copy-and-paste pages do not help.

4. Answer questions people actually ask

Short, direct guides on pricing a home, timing a sale, and the selling process give search engines and AI assistants something to quote. See our guide on getting more listings for the questions agents get.

5. Measure it

  • Calls, direction requests, and website clicks from your profile
  • Which pages get search visits and which turn into inquiries
  • Review count and rating over time
